music and words - pat they come from the skyway beyond our sight some pass by some they stick around for a while to see how we are flawed and easily scarred knowing our end's near that they've seen it before with the blink of an eye they're beyond our sight some pass by some stay to play us for a while to see how we are flawed and easily opened knowing our end's near leaving us scared and broken some pass some stay some scare some break

words and music - pat paul we had to give up and swallow cold bitter tasting defeat and as we cried walls kept inside sounds they dare not repeat you had give in and follow cold bitter footprints we left and as you heard walls every word sounds they struck through your head may you forever sleep drifting violently deep into a world you should have never known finger to eye claw to the bone - to the bone should have never known what walls can keep dare not repeat

My Savior 03:09
words and music - matt legrow My Savior - you hunger drunk on holy wine labor under my faith indifferent to the divine My Savior - you murder like my dinosaur kin resolve this perfect crime no trace we've ever been Feel it coming down - reassess your shit tomorrow Jesus comin round - repossess what you have borrowed My Savior - I celebrate all that is real push my sense to the limit while my senses can feel My Savior - I cast out what you would have me learn so I sing and drink my fill while your holy land burns Feel it comin down - reassess your shit tomorrow Jesus comin round -reposess what you have borrowed

words and music - pat paul Listen close you can hear the dead they call our names They got a place for us all they wait and they pray That the end will swiftly come and go not linger harsh and so sick with woe raise the sadness we've all come to know so well If you turn around You'll see the dead In the shadows They will show the way for us When we all burn to dust That the end will swiftly come and go not linger harsh and so sick with woe raise the sadness we've all come to know so well so well

words and music - matt legrow Cries on the wind never heard This reality absurd Leaving footprints in our wake This isolation all I can take The scent of carrion across the skies the thrill of the journey I despise shrinking from the public's eyes hiding in a field of lies Lonely walker -skies are grey going hungry again today another year for my decay Lonely walker - skies are blue there is nothing I cannot do The life I lead outside of you I was visible today and all the terror I convey and all the sadness I can borrow when I forget about tomorrow Lonely walker - skies are grey going hungry again today another year for my decay Lonely walker - skies are blue there is nothing I cannot do The life I lead outside of you.

No Tomorrow 03:59
music - pat paul words - matt legrow and pat paul Summer heat will boil that skin tonight we're altogether in tonight we're leaving scars I see man's destruction right outside my windowpane I smile at the violent reflection my spirit isn't vain They'll be no trace of us tomorrow There will be no more sorrow The time is now to live Because we'll never live again Gunshots - chaos - all is lost Tonight there is no moral cost Brimstone -fire - Hell on earth I see how much we're truly worth Retribution human evil Sinner and saint are equal Forgiveness doesn't matter When all that is - is scattered They'll be no trace of us tomorrow There will be no more sorrow The time is now to live Because we'll never live again.

about

Fresh off of the RPM challenge of the previous year, in January and February of 2010 Pat and Matt did a series of duo open mic nights at the Soundry in Fairfax, VA as "Last Band On Earth." These are the first official Last Band shows and feature early stripped-down versions of material eventually to appear on the 2010 full band demo. The original 2014 release is freshly adorned with a few intimate rehearsal tracks forming a bridge to the full band records.

credits

released December 30, 2014

Pat Paul - Guitar and Lead Vox
Matt LeGrow - Guitar and Backing Vox

This album is dedicated to the memory of Sean "Whiskey Mountain" Meyers, former bassist for the NoVa folk-rock band Norman Rockwell (normanrockwell.bandcamp.com) who manned - and it must be said, with good humor - the regular open mic night at the Soundry when these tracks were recorded. Sean tragically passed away in 2012.

We miss you Sean, and thanks for sacrificing your time and energy to support local music!

Thanks also to Lance Steiner for the duo pic.
